It is with sadness that I have to report the death of Ron Watts MBE. Ron passed away on Sunday 9th August after a long illness.
Ron as you are aware judged our annual allotment competition for many years until this year but would have done it this year if we could have got him round the allotments. Ron also judged our allotment show from it inception and was always willing to help in any way he could.
I had known Ron for many years and he was such a gentleman. He will be sadly missed by us all.

I must say that’s terrible news. On the couple of occassions I’d met Ron he was always willing to give advice and help to a novice allotment holder. He was an inspiration. There wasn’t anything he didn’t know about growing vegetables. A lovely man and will be a huge loss to us all. Best wishes to his family.
