An allotment journey

Stepping back a year and a half ago, my name finally appeared at the top of the waiting list and I was given a patch at the Wrecclesham allotment site.  Before this my gardening skills had comprised of growing a few spuds in tubs, a rhubarb plant and a few strawberry plants in my back garden.  November 2011 and the patch looked like this:

Allotment 001

I have spent the last year and a half, making mistakes, learning, lots of hard graft, doing one bit at a time.  it now looks like this:

I hope to keep a blog of what I am doing and receive and share any advice from all you experts out there.

Hose Connectors, Wrecclesham Allotments

Whoever thinks it a good idea to remove connectors from hoses, perhaps they would like to return them.

Wrecclesham Allotments vandalism

We had a visit from vandals at the Wrecclesham site over the weekend. Gates and fences were broken down, produce dug up and taken. Been reported to the police. Hopefully other sites won’t have the same problem, but best to keep an eye on things, especially in the run-up to Christmas. Robert Green. (Wrecclesham Site Rep.)
